Mount Rinjani Trekking & Climbing
Operated by RINJANI TREKKING GUIDE (RTG)

By booking, registering, or participating in any Mount Rinjani trekking or climbing activity operated by RTG, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Eligibility & Participation

  1. Participants must be in good physical and mental condition.
  2. All personal information provided must be true and accurate.
  3. Minimum age requirement is 12 years. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  4. Participation is not recommended for pregnant individuals or those with serious medical conditions.

2. Health Declaration & Safety

  1. Participants confirm they are medically fit for high-altitude trekking.
  2. Any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries must be disclosed to RTG prior to departure.
  3. Participants agree to follow all instructions given by RTG guides, porters, and National Park rangers.
  4. RTG reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation at any time for safety reasons, without refund.

3. Environmental Protection & Conduct

  1. Mount Rinjani is a protected National Park. Participants must:
    • Carry out all personal waste.
    • Respect wildlife, vegetation, and natural surroundings.
    • Respect local customs and sacred sites.
  2. Any behavior that harms the environment or violates park regulations may result in immediate removal from the trek.

4. Equipment & Personal Property

  1. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate trekking gear, including suitable footwear and clothing.
  2. RTG is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings during the trip.

5. Weather, Volcanic Activity & Itinerary Changes

  1. Weather and natural conditions in mountainous areas are unpredictable.
  2. RTG reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries, or schedules due to:
    • Weather conditions
    • Volcanic activity
    • Safety concerns
    • National Park authority decisions
  3. No compensation or refund is guaranteed for changes caused by force majeure.

6. Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy

  1. A booking is confirmed upon receipt of the required payment.
  2. Participant-initiated cancellations:
    • 7 days or more before departure: partial refund (administration fees may apply)
    • Less than 3 days before departure: no refund
  3. RTG may cancel a trip due to safety concerns, natural conditions, or insufficient participants.

7. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

  1. Trekking and climbing Mount Rinjani involve inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, altitude sickness, extreme weather, and potential fatality.
  2. Participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with these activities.
  3. RTG, its staff, guides, porters, and partners shall not be held liable for:
    • Personal injury or death
    • Loss or damage of personal property
    • Delays or cancellations beyond its control

8. Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy

  1. A booking is confirmed once the required deposit payment is received.
  2. The deposit is normally non-refundable, as it is used to secure Mount Rinjani National Park permits, which are issued by the government.
  3. In the event of cancellation by the participant for personal reasons, the deposit will be forfeited.
  4. Cancellations due to force majeure (including but not limited to extreme weather, volcanic activity, natural disasters, or official park closure) may be eligible for a refund only if the Mount Rinjani National Park authority refunds the permit fee.
  5. Any refundable amount related to park permits will be returned to the participant only after RTG has received the refund from the park authority. Processing time depends on the government refund procedure.
  6. Any remaining payments beyond the permit deposit will be handled according to the conditions communicated at the time of booking.

9. Insurance Requirement

  1. Participants are strongly advised to carry valid travel insurance.
  2. Insurance should include coverage for:
    • High-altitude trekking
    • Emergency medical treatment
    • Evacuation and rescue services

10. Photography & Media Usage

  1. RTG may use photographs or videos taken during the trip for promotional purposes.
  2. Participants wishing to opt out must notify RTG in writing prior to departure.

11. Legal Agreement

By joining a Mount Rinjani trekking or climbing activity with RTG, participants confirm that they:

  • Have read and understood these Terms & Conditions
  • Agree to comply with all rules and safety instructions
  • Accept full responsibility for their participation
